Staying Grounded In Uncertain Times

Hey there Magical Beings,

When I got my start in the magical world, it looked a lot like getting outta my mind and into my body.

My ritual was simple, I'd speak my affirmation out loud, pour my coffe, add creamer and stir a few times, enchanting my coffee with my mantra. I’d then breath in what I had just said and take my first sip. And to be honest thats been my small but powerful morning grounding ritual for the past 10 years. It's that simple.

But because I know that my way may not be for everyone I have put together a few tips to help you ground into your experience and help you call back your energy. Be sure to tag @thatwitchkarena on IG if you use any of these.

Here are other methods I use to help me stay grounded when life feels chaotic or uncertain:

🕯 Create a Grounding Ritual

Design a simple daily ritual to connect with the earth’s energy. This could involve standing barefoot on the ground, visualizing roots growing from your feet into the earth, or holding a grounding crystal like black tourmaline or smoky quartz. Repeat a grounding mantra, like “I am rooted, safe, and steady.”

📣 Create a mantra or affirmation

Using an affirmation like "I release control” is a great way to remind the mind, body, soul experience that you can control what is actually in your control.

🌼 Use Herbal Allies

Incorporate grounding herbs into your daily life. Drink teas with chamomile, valerian, or ginger to promote calm and stability. Burning incense made from sandalwood, cedar, or frankincense can also help you feel anchored. Garden or care for house plants. Talk to them, see if you can hear their intuitive whisper back.

✨️Practice Energy Clearing

Regularly cleanse your personal energy and home space to keep stagnant or negative energy at bay. Use a smoke cleanse with sage, palo santo, or rosemary, or try sound cleansing with bells or singing bowls to reset your space.

💕 Work with Root Chakra Energy

The root chakra, located at the base of your spine, is associated with grounding and stability. Practice meditations or yoga that focus on this area, visualizing red light to help strengthen your foundation.

🌳 Connect with Nature

Spending time outdoors, especially in a forest, by water, or in a park, can be incredibly grounding. Nature helps us feel connected to something larger than ourselves, which can be a comforting reminder during uncertain times. Or just kick off your shoes and walk in the grass. Allow the Earth to hold you, no matter where you are.

📖 Journal Your Emotions

Writing down your thoughts and fears helps to release them, rather than letting them swirl around in your mind. Journaling grounds your emotions, making it easier to handle challenging times with clarity. I know when I keep myself from my journal I'm holding intuitive knowledge back from myself. This is when it's most important.

🗡 Set Boundaries and Simplify

Create boundaries with people, activities, and even media that drain your energy. Focus on what truly matters to you, reducing distractions and commitments to feel more grounded in what’s most important. This can be a tricky one, so remember practice and show yourself compassion when you've broken your own boundaries.

⚡️ Visualize Protective Shields

When you feel vulnerable or anxious, visualize a protective light surrounding you, keeping you safe and steady. Imagine it as a soft, warm glow that grounds you while filtering out anything that doesn’t serve your well-being.

🔮 Work with Grounding Stones

Carry grounding stones, like hematite, obsidian, or jasper, in your pocket or wear them as jewelry. Hold them in your hands when you need to feel steady, and allow their energy to connect you with the earth. Worry stone's are great for this, as they keep the hands busy so the mind doesn't stay in one place too long.

Each of these tips can become a mini ritual to help you anchor yourself, no matter what’s happening around you. Embrace the practices that resonate most with you, and let them be a source of comfort and stability in uncertain times.
